WHY YOU SHOULD NOT STORE EGGS IN THE FRIDGE DOOR

It is common to store eggs in the designated egg rack in the door of the refrigerator, in the refrigerator because some eggs are power-washed and lose their natural protective coatings, making them more susceptible to contamination. But should you put your eggs in the cute little egg tray in the door of your refrigerator?

Kitchen Fact: Eggs should be stored on a shelf in the refrigerator, not the door.

The answer is no — the door is the warmest part of the refrigerator and the temperature there can fluctuate, especially when the refrigerator is opened.

Instead, store eggs in the main part of the fridge on a shelf, preferably toward the back of the refrigerator where it's coldest and the temperature is more stable. You can still use the egg tray if you like , but this will help your eggs stay fresher and last longer!

Experts now believe the holes provided to keep the eggs might not be the best place to keep them.
As the door is exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations every time the fridge is opened, there is a higher possibility of the egg getting rotten if placed there.

It is essential to not expose the egg to varying temperature difference after buying from the supermarket.  Experts recommend to store the eggs in the fridge shelves as the temperature will be constant and eggs will last longer.
